Yours is the smartest take I've read so far on this legislation. It's very similar to what happened in COPPA, where the signals of compliance became more important/actionable/solution-y than actual protection of kids' privacy.

Thanks Torrey. It's really hard to critique things like this, you want someone to do something!! But it just falls flat/short, I think. Especially if we're talking 2027.

I agree. But at the very least, it puts a stake in the ground to assert legislative domain. Maybe it's not the right law, but it maintains our right to have laws to regulate the space. I hope we work toward better laws in the future.
